girls-love-beyonce
Drake gives us two songs in one day. After dropping “No New Friends” with DJ Khaled, Drizzy speaks to the ladies on “Girls Love Beyoncé.” He opens up about his love life (“I’ve been avoiding commitment”) and puts the call out for a special lady on the vulnerable R&B jam, produced by Noah “40” Shebib.
“I need someone that will help me think of someone besides myself/ I need someone I leave through the front door with ’cause we don’t want to hide no more,” sings October’s Very Own.
James Fauntleroy pays homage to B by singing the lyrics to Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” on the hook.
In a recent interview, Drake revealed that the track will not appear on his upcoming album Nothing Was the Same.
Snoop Lion Talks Collaborating With Miley Cyrus: “She’s Going Through Transformation”

“Is there any possibility that anyone feels like me?” Miley Cyrus sings in “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks,” her collaboration with Snoop Lion for the latter’s reggae debut Reincarnated. Critics and listeners alike were pleasantly surprised by the song featuring the former gangsta rapper alongside the former Disney Channel star, but as Lion recently said, he and Cyrus actually have more in common than most realize.
“Miley, I’ve always been a fan of hers. And you know, when she decided to go solo and do her thing, it was only right for us to connect, because we both believe in the same things,” Lion said at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. “She’s going through transformation and change right now, just like myself, so it’s only right.”

Tyga Claims He Has Never Received A Royalty Check From Cash Money Records

Tyga ft. The Game – Switch Lanes (Behind The Scenes)
After three albums with Cash Money Records, Tyga told Power 105′s The Breakfast Club that all he received was a signing bonus.
Last week, Tyga released his third album through Cash Money/Young Money Records in Hotel California. Following 2012′s Careless World: Rise Of The Last Kingalbum and 2008′s independent No Introduction, the Los Angeles, California native has sold over 350,000 albums to date in the United States alone. However, the veteran artist recently stated to Power 105′s The Breakfast Club, that he’s never received a royalty from the label Birdman co-founded.
“I never got a check from Young Money/Cash Money,” Tyga said in the interview, as reported by HipHopBlog.com. “But by me saying that, I’ve always treated my career like independent and everything that I got is because of myself, my own endorsements, me touring, myself. I think I got a signing bonus when I first signed but that was it.”
Artists including Juvenile and Mannie Fresh have previously left Cash Money, citing financial disputes for their departure.
Tyga however, did not appear to be completely complaining, “At a certain time, you get your money but at the same time, they pay for your videos and all that other stuff. But I never really was dependent on the label like that.”
50 Cent Recalls Losing His Mother, Has “No Interest” In Meeting Father

6-50 Cent
50 Cent remembers not understanding that his mother passed away, and says he doesn’t yearn for a connection with his father.
50 Cent doesn’t often speak on the topic of his parents. In an interview on “Larry King Now,” the Queens emcee opened up, first talking about his deceased mother.
“I don’t think I really dealt with it in the early stages,” said Fif of the loss of his mother. “I lost my mom when I was eight, so I didn’t really understand at that point.”
50 explained that as a child, he didn’t understand that he had lost his mother at first. “Later, they would consistently say, ‘She’s not coming back,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah she is.’ My grandfather would look at me like, ‘He doesn’t understand.’ Later, you grow and start to understand.”
Fif also spoke about his father, though the attitude towards him was decidedly less warm. “I never knew my father. I never actually met him. Some people have that thing where they want that parent that they haven’t had in their lives. I have no interest in it.”
“The mistakes I made early on… he could’ve been here to help me not make those mistakes,” he added.

Mary J. Blige's
FINANCIAL DISASTER
New $900k Tax Lien
Exclusive
0215_mary_j_blige
Just when you thought Mary J. Blige's financial problems couldn't get any worse ... TMZ has learned the singer has been hit with a $900,000 tax lien in the State of New Jersey.

Blige -- who was JUST sued earlier this month for allegedly defaulting on a $500k bank loan -- is now on the hook for $901,769.65 in back taxes to the Garden State, this according to official documents obtained by TMZ.

The tax lien is the latest in a string of financial woes for the Grammy winner -- just last year, Mary J. was sued for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million bank loan .. and before that, her charity was sued for not paying back a $250k loan.

Back in May, Blige blamed the charity's financial issues on the staff -- saying, "The problem is that I didn't have the right people in the right places doing the right things."

We reached out to Blige's camp for comment on the tax lien -- but so far, radio silence.

Tim Dog

After a long battle with diabetes, The Source reports that Bronx rapper Tim Dog died today from a seizure related to the disease. He turned 46 last month.

Born Timothy Blair, the rapper has been a fixture on the hip hop scene for decades, releasing his first solo project, Penicillin on Wax, in 1991. That album features his best-known song, the diss record "F--k Compton," which hit hard at N.W.A. and Dr. Dre and rode—and some say caused—the wave of coastal beef that was just beginnig to sweep the industry. Tim Dog also recorded projects with The Ultramagnetic MCs and KRS-One ("I Get Wrecked"). Nas shouted him out on 2006's "Where Are They Now?"

Tim Dog was most recently in the news last year, when said he was set up for conning a woman out of more than $30,000 online, an offense to which he plead guilty. He also penned a book, not currently available for sale, titled Who Killed Hip Hop?!

When you reach a certain level of fame people tend to treat you different. 2 Chainz of all people should know this. The "I'm Different" rapper learned an important lesson about the preferential treatment fame can afford you Thursday night in Maryland.

The Grammy-nominated hip hop star, born Tauheed Epps, was arrested by Maryland state troopers following a traffic stop in Easton, Maryland. Though there were six other people in the Ford van during the stop, 2 Chainz was the only person detained and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

According to the local news outlet, WBOC 16, police issued a citation to 2 Chainz and released him without bond.

Ever the showman, 2 Chainz still made it to his scheduled gig at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He was the headlining act at the school’s homecoming event. Chainz posted a picture on Twitter from the stage with the caption, "Show must go on much love UMES."

He later discussed the arrest on Twitter.

"I work hard and pray even harder, we gone always b good yall…Not to mention my security said it was his and they said, he don’t smoke, how da f-k u know? Haha wut [sic] a Valentine’s day!!!" he wrote.

The rapper is expected to pay a small fine in the case.

As you can tell from the image above he was a pretty popular guest during his short stay in jail.

"Locked me up and then wanted pictures smh."

Eve and Britney Spears Battle Over "Scream & Shout"

The rapstress says Spears did not sing on the new will.i.am single.

Eve, Britney Spears

Britney Spears’ appearance on will.i.am’s new single "Scream & Shout" was supposed to mark the triumphant return of the former pop music princess. But Britney’s camp is not happy with Philly MC Eve’s recent insinuation that the singer did not actually lay her vocals on the track.

"I heard that might not be Britney,” said Eve during an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. "That's what I heard, but you know, I don't know," continued Eve. "It could be Britney. But I heard it wasn't."

Spears’ publicist Jeff Raymond reportedly told TMZ that Eve’s claims are "absolute BS," stating, "Britney sang the song. will.i.am wanted her for this song and she sang on it."

Many have pointed out that the song, which was released in November of 2012, sounds unlike any music Spears has released in the past. TMZ quotes another source who insists that it is Britney on the track and suggests that Eve is simply jealous.

"Scream & Shout" was penned by will.i.am, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste and will appear on The Black Eyed Peas frontman’s fourth solo album #willpower.

Mixtape Review: Pusha T, Wrath of Caine

Years in waiting, the release of Pusha T’s solo debut album at last seems within reach. The LP, which will be titled My Name Is My Name, is slated to arrive sometime later this year. But coming off of 2012’s multi-platinum G.O.O.D. Music single "Mercy" and appearances on the crew’s Cruel Summer compilation, Ziploc P can’t just stop meeting the demand for new music while fans await his proper solo debut. His latest effort, Wrath of Caine, serves as an appetizer with several new sous chefs – many of which are seated at the production end of the table.

The prelude to Pusha’s forthcoming album begins with invigorated rhymes aimed at deflating the egos of "laptop hot" Internet rappers. Although his reputation precedes itself, the younger Thornton brother raps as if to remind newer MC’s of his place on hip hop’s present totem pole. Lines like "Vengeance is mine said the Lord / Throwing shots at n---- cause I’m bored" are a clear indication that Pusha thinks no more of dissing rappers than Tony Montana thinks of killing a communist.

The Virginia rhyme slinger then plays the pope of dope and baptizes bricks of that white in religious metaphors on "Millions." The roaring ode to drug money provides an instant rush that channels the power and paranoia that accompany suffering from success in the "snow" business. Paired with Southside and co-producer Kanye West’s musical arrangement, Push and guest Rick Ross sound at home on the booming cut. Drug dealer chic rhymes and a chorus that lives well outside the confines of the law prove effective in P’s pursuit to "restore the feeling" of flourishing in a dangerous enterprise. Deciding to break the choppas out the closet, the tape’s lead single "Millions" sees the "bricklayer" MC enforcing claims that his absence from the charts doesn’t mean that his money’s not piling high. He drives the latter point home with both conviction and panache, spitt

Jay-Z Covers TIME Magazine?s ?100 Most Influential People in The World? Is

It’s that time of year again, as TIME Magazine steps forth to announce their annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. With no boundaries, the list encompasses influencers from all around the world stemming from titans, pioneers, leaders, icons and artists. Jay-Z also made the list despite receiving some scrutiny for his excursion to Cuba a few weeks back, not to mention he also started Roc Nation Sports, a sports representation company, then followed up with news of his signing to Universal Music. In any event, the 42 year-old mogul is a proven winner in the realm of business and certainly worthy, we’d say. His feature on TIME Magazine also written by the New York mayor himself, Michael Bloomberg, read the excerpt below:
Jay Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York. A kid from a tough neighborhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top — and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition. When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes. He’s an artist-entrepreneur who stands at the center of culture and commerce in 21st century America, and his influence stretches across races, religions and regions. He’s never forgotten his roots — “Empire State of Mind” was a love song to our city — and as a co-owner of the NBA Nets, he helped bring a major league sports team back to Brooklyn, not far from his old neighborhood. In nearly everything he’s tried, he’s found success. (He even put a ring on Beyoncé.) And in doing so, he’s proved that the American Dream is alive and well.
Bloomberg is the 108th mayor of New York City
