BRITTNEY GRINER’S WIFE MEETS WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN TO DISCUSS GRINER’S RELEASE: According to People, President Biden met with Brittney Griner‘s wife Cherelle Griner and Paul Whelan‘s sister Elizabeth Whelan separately on Friday (September 16th) in the Oval Office. A statement from Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement, The meetings were held to “reiterate his continued commitment to working through all available avenues to bring Brittney and Paul home safely.” She continued, “He asked after the wellbeing of Elizabeth and Cherelle and their respective families during this painful time. The President appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Brittney and Paul from those who love them most, and acknowledged that every minute they are being held is a minute too long.” Following the meeting, Cherelle posted a picture with Biden on to her Instagram. She captioned the post, “I want to thank President Biden for yesterday’s meeting as well as the Administration for its efforts to secure my wife’s release. It was an honor to speak with him directly about the Brittney we know and love. I’ve felt every minute of the grueling seven months without her. I look forward to the day my wife is back home.” Brittney was sentenced to nine years in prison on August 4th on charges of smuggling drugs into the country, just below the maximum sentence of 10 years.
WENDY WILLIAMS ‘WAS AT DEATH’S DOOR’ IN 2020: According to Page Six, a source says that Wendy Williams was “at death’s door” and was hospitalized for two blood transfusions two years ago due to her alcohol addiction. The source revealed that in May 2020, DJ Boof found Williams “catatonic” at her NYC apartment and her former manager Bernie Young refused to call 911 out of fear that it would become public. The source added that Wendy’s one was a mess due to her addiction and poor health, saying, “It was pretty much a mess. She was in her robe, it was soiled, she was catatonic, she was in a very, very bad state. She was looking at the ceiling. She was just not responsive, but her eyes were open, but she was definitely in a catatonic state.” The source reveals that they discovered “a case of alcohol, open wine bottles and Ketel One.” The source said that DJ Boof fed Wendy ice chips to keep her hydrated. The source said, “She’s going to die. She literally couldn’t stand up. She was just lying on top of the covers, and she needed 911 help, and Young’s like, ‘We’re not getting 911.'” Eventually, Williams’ ex husband and their son got on the phone and begged Wendy to get help. DJ Boof ended up driving Wendy to the hospital where she received two blood transfusions because she was “so low on iron.” She remained under medical observation for about four or five days and had “no recollection” of the events that had transpired.
MOVIEGOERS CALL FOR BOYCOTT OF ‘THE WOMAN KING’: Moviegoers are calling for a boycott of Viola Davis‘ new film The Woman King. The film is about Dahomey tribe and their all female military regiment, the Agodjie. According to Eurweb, the issue is according to history their main source of economics was slave trading in the transatlantic slave trade and palm oil was likely produced by the slaves they held captive. Youtuber ToneTalks did a video on the film, saying how the film’s plot largely missed the truth. ToneTalks also tweeted about the film, “Time to Boycott the Woman King movie. The film is about the Dahomey & Benin that traded slaves into the transatlantic. This may be the most offensive film to Black Americans in 40-50 years.”
JOHN BOYEGA RECEIVES BACKLASH AFTER SAYING HE ONLY DATES BLACK WOMEN: John Boyega recently faced backlash after he stated that he only dates black women. During a radio interview, he said, “I’ve said it openly, but it’s just a preference, I like my women Black.mm it’s just they fine as hell. Melanin levels got to be over 75 percent, thickness got to be there, style got to be there. We got to laugh at the same jokes. Bump to the same music. It’s got to be a flow.” After receiving backlash, Boyega doubled down on his comments, tweeting, “When they talk about preffering brunettes or blondes they're not talking about a wig. My preference is not a topic for debate.”

The model gave birth to her first and Nick Cannon‘s ninth child Onyx Ice Cole Cannon last week. She posted via IG, “Grateful that I got to enjoy a peaceful pregnancy. I took plenty of pics and videos throughout the past 9 months.. but everything doesn’t have to be posted online light bulb emoji.” She continued, “The most important thing to share is the hard work I’ve been putting in right up until I gave birth. From working with legendary artists as a photographer to producing/creating documentaries with my team. We tell artists stories through our lens and it’s the best feeling. I get to do work that I love every day and that’s what look forward to sharing the most. Nick is an amazing father. And it’s not necessary to post move we’ve made online.” Cannon has two more children on the way.
SHEREE WHITFIELD ADDRESSES SHE BY SHEREE HAVING IDENTICAL PIECES TO SHEIN: During an interview with journalist Gibson Johns, Sheree Whitefield spoke on claims that her clothing line She By Sheree has similar pieces to Shein but with higher prices. Sheree revealed that she was unaware that she used the same vendor as Shein. She said, “This isn’t the first time this has been done. I don’t know why people are holding me to a different degree than everybody else.”
ERICA MENA AND SAFAREE SAMUELS DIVORCE FINALIZED: Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels‘ divorce has been finalized. According to TMZ, the judge signed off on the divorce on September 12th. Safaree will be responsible for paying Erica $4,305 per month in child support. Erica filed for divorce back in May 2021 and the two have been living separately ever since, sharing joint custody of their two young children. The pair sold their $1.3 million Georgia mansion in June and now, with the marriage officially over, the documents go on to say that Erica will now go by her maiden name: Mena.
‘SWEETIE PIES’ STAR TIM NORMAN GUILTY ON ALL CHARGES IN MURDER FOR HIRE PLOT: Sweetie Pie’s star James “Tim” Norman has been found guilty of conspiring to kill his nephew, 21-year-old Andre Montgomery. Norman, was convicted on all charges after the jury deliberated for about 17 hours. He faced two federal murder-for-hire counts and one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Norman orchestrated the 2016 murder of Andre then attempted to cash out up to $450,000 in a fraudulent life insurance policy he took out on Montgomery about 18 months before the death, the jury decided. Norman and his nephew starred in OWN’s “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” for a few years.
