Woman Injured During Takeoff Fatal Shooting Breaks Her Silence

Sydney Leday, the woman who was also shot the night that Takeoff was killed in Houston, has broken her silence.  During an interview with KHOU 11, Leday shared more details about the night of the shooting — which happened two days after her 24th birthday.

Leday said that the private party at 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley started out like any other normal event but by 2:30 am, she could "sense" that something was wrong. Leday said that she saw Quavo get upset during a dice game. While she believed the disagreement started as “friendly banter,” things soon took a turn for the worse.

Leday said that the argument escalated and she turned to run away and that's when shots began to ring out. She said, "I felt the sting to the back of my head, and I felt myself falling… but it was just like a scary movie, really — ironically, it was Halloween night. I had on a nun outfit. I had blood all over me…"

She added that she somehow made her way down an escalator. And to a friend’s car, before being driven to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Leday was in a coma and intubated while at the hospital. When she woke up, the only thing she could thing about was returning home. She told the news that she is "grateful" to be alive.

She said, "I really just can say I’m grateful to be here… the place that [the bullet] hit in my head, I just feel like it was a miracle…"
