Local Artist Spotlight: HP50K — Chalk on the Sidewalk
This week’s Local Artist Spotlight goes to HP50K and his latest project, Chalk on the Sidewalk. The album is built around real life experiences, reflection, and lessons learned, offering listeners an honest look at the environments and situations that helped shape his perspective.
Speaking on the meaning behind the title, HP50K explained:
“It’s a duality of showing you anyone can fail, lose, or not be here. But if you’re here, you have to make the most of it. If you’ve escaped the street life, you can be a voice for the younger generation that may have confusion in a lot of choices.”
The project reflects both personal growth and storytelling, with HP50K using his experiences to connect with listeners while sharing messages that go beyond music.
When asked what he hopes listeners take away from the album, he said:
“I hope listeners can put themselves in my shoes for a moment to understand points of view that either resonate with them or open their minds to certain actions they can skip going through.”
