Hip Hop Beats: French Montana, Drake & More!

FRENCH MONTANA CLAIMS AKON GAVE HIM A FAKE WATCH: French Montana revealed during a recent interview DJ Akademiks that Akon gave him a fake Hublot watch for his birthday one year. However, neither French Montana nor Akon knew the watch wasn't real until French tried to have a jeweler pur diamonds in it. French explained, "[The jeweler] looked at me and said, ‘What you mean? Akon did not give you this, my guy." The rapper said he called Akon to tell him the watch wasn't authentic. He jokingly added that he hasn't received his real Hublot watch from Akon just yet. 

DRAKE MOVES INTO $65 MILLION MANSION: Drake has moved into a mansion in Beverly Hills, California with a price tag of $65 million. According to Dirt.com on Thursday (October 28th), the 18,169-square foot home has seven bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and is specifically located in the Trousdale Estates. The property also comes with a movie theater, curved spiral staircase, bespoke Minotti furniture and an all-custom kitchen with Gaggenau appliances, a marble island and a separate “catering” kitchen with Viking brand appliances. There's a private terrace with a jacuzzi as well.

NAS TO DIRECT DOCUMENTARY ON HIP-HOP TV SHOW 'VIDEO MUSIC BOX': According to HipHopDX on Thursday (October 28th), Nas will be putting on his director's hat for an upcoming documentary on the hip-hop pioneering TV show Video Music Box. The film is set to air on Showtime on December 3rd. The documentary, which is tentatively titled Video Music Box, tells the story of the program that aired during the 1980s and 1990s, which was hosted by Ralph McDaniels.
