Pusha T has revealed what led him to end his beef with Drake. During an interview with Desus & Mero, he said that fatherhood changed his thought process about the situation. He said, “I don’t like the energy of mentioning my son in that type of energy — or any kid in that type of energy. It’s not my thing right now. I got my son, and with me, I’m just not going to play about anything involving him. Like, I don’t play nothing. So, it’s like, ‘You know what? I’ll just [leave it alone].'”
Pusha added that he is a "very selfish" person in all other aspects of life except for his son.

On how he has been coping with such a devastating loss, he said, “I think the one thing that’s helped me deal with grief right now… I just know I was good with my parents, both of them, like really good. I grieve selfishly, I’m grieving now."
He fought back tears, adding, “They’re alright, I know it."
