DRAKE, LIL WAYNE AND NICKI MINAJ REUNITE IN TORONTO: Drake, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj reunited on stage in Toronto on Saturday (August 6th) during OVO Fest 2022, with Drake calling Wayne and Nicki the “greatest musicians of all f* cking time.” The trio performed their biggest hits, including,”BedRock,” “Every Girl,” and “The Motto.” Drake told the crowd, “It’s been a long time since we been here and been able to do this together. First and foremost, I just wanna say tonight I got to stand in the crowd and watch two of the greatest musicians of all f*cking time. I’m so grateful to be a part of that team.” Drake also called Wayne “the most selfless man on planet earth” and said of Minaj, “Nobody can f*ck with Nicki. It gets on my nerves. It’s like, the originator. It starts here, ends here, all that sh*t.” Meanwhile, Wayne hnted at releasing Tha Carter VI.
KENDRICK LAMAR PERFORMS INTIMATE SET IN FRONT OF JAY Z AND BEYONCE IN NYC: After his Big Steppers Tour stop in Brooklyn, NY, Kendrick Lamar performed an intimate set at Dumbo House, a members-only club by the East River. DOJA CAT RESPONDS TO PEOPLE CALLING HER 'SICK' FOR SHAVING HER HEAD: Doja Cat has responded to people calling her sick for shaving off her head and eyebrows. She said via IG Live, “I don’t like having hair. I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time since the beginning of my life that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool.'” She continued, saying that people claiming that she needs help is “heavy.” She explained, “… everybody being like, 'You're on drugs. You're crazy. What has she done to herself? You need to seek help.'” She added, “This isn't a cry for help or an issue of any sort. This is just me having no hair. I'm still the same me.”
WIZ KHALIFA APOLOGIZES TO THE DJ COMMUNITY AFTER HE WENT OFF AT THE CLUB OVER HIS SET LIST: Wiz Khalifa has apologized for going off on DJ Mike Danger and MC Tron in a nightclub. During a radio, he said, “First of all, I want to apologize to all the DJs in the entire DJ community for my behavior. I do realize that it was a bit much and I’m big enough man to be like, ‘yo that shouldn’t have happened, that shouldn’t go down.’ That’s not how business gets handled and that’s not how you get your point across.” He added, “I apologize sincerly. I didn’t want to piss anyone off.” Wiz revealed what led to him going off, saying, “It was just a real issue with timing, firing the songs; the cues were wrong. It wasn’t going right, the music wasn’t going right, there was people talking over it.”
REPORT: NBA YOUNGBOY ALLEGEDLY USES FAKE URINE FOR DRUG TEST: According to Allhiphop, on July 26th, NBA Youngboy took a drug test issued by his probation officer was allegedly caught faking his urine sample by using a device to alter his results. When explaining the incident, The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana stated, “When questioned, the defendant pulled up his pants quickly. The defendant denied using a device and would not comply with the officer’s attempts to view the device. The defendant was informed that the test would be negated, and a second sample would be required. After the request, the defendant was allowed to get water. The defendant was instructed to remain in the lobby and not leave for any reason; however, the defendant left the office without permission prior to providing a second sample.” The next day, YougBoy admitted to using a vape for the entirety of his pretrial release– but still denied faking his test. This, along with the allegation that he'd gone to a recording studio without permission, has attorneys urging to keep him on house arrest.
SAWEETIE REVEALS WHY DID THE BIG CHOP: During an interview with Kevin Hart on his Hart to Heart show, Saweetie revealed why she decided to cut her hair off. She explained, “I’ve been stressed out for the last three years. The stress of being a woman in the spotlight, it’s very microscopic. Questions like ‘What are you doing with your life?’ Everyone is micromanaging your moves, making comments, opinions, and I wasn’t used to that.” She continued, saying that throughout her career she has dealt with “tons of mental breakdowns.” She added that she also has a “high tolerance for stress, pain, and turmoil” and can feel the physical effects of it.” She went on, “In quarantine I had time to do a lot of like self reflection. I learned how to meditate. And through meditation, I’ve had access to my higher self. That gave me a whole new experience. And when I did that, I wanted to start fresh. And I did my research and I heard that hair holds a lot of energy so it’s essentially the metamorphosis of Saweetie and Diamonte of a caterpillar into a butterfly.”
BLUEFACE WELCOMES NEW BABY GIRL: Blueface has welcomed a new baby girl with ex-girlfriend Jaidyn Alexis. Alexis posted a picture of their newborn daughter's foot on Instagram on Friday (August 5th). The baby's name is Journey Alexis Porter and this is Blueface and Jaidyn's second child together.
