Hip Hop Beats: Young Thug, T.I. & Talib Kweli!

REPORT: YOUNG THUG FACING NEW GANG, DRUG AND GUN CHARGES: A new report from WSBTV has suggested that Young Thug will be facing more legal trouble. The Fulton County District Attorney's Office has filed a new indictment. The new indictment reportedly "includes all 28 defendants from the May indictment and still focuses on YSL, an organization allegedly founded by Williams and two others." However, the new charges are reportedly only against Thugger and four defendants.  The rapper is now reportedly facing a new gang charge, new drug charges, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a machine gun.  Two other defendants—one being Yak Gotti—will also be tacked with the machine gun charge. Yak Gotti's attorney stated that the rapper is a performer, "not a criminal."

T.I.'S DAUGHTER DEYJAH HARRIS REVEALS WHY SHE SELF HARMS: T.I.'s daughter Deyjah Harris took to social media to open up about why she cuts herself. When someone asked her, “What’s the purpose in making those cuts on your arms?” She responded, “I was doing it because I was sad and numb in a way,” she wrote. “However around 17 (so after Auntie Precious passed) that’s when it kinda changed…it got worse. I do it because I have a lot of anger to release basically.” She continued, “I want to be honest but I don’t want people to look at me and say ‘omg she needs help’ or try to give me sympathy because I don’t need it.” She concluded with “Sometimes I’m numb so I do it just to feel something.”

TALIB KWELI CLAIMS EMOTIONAL DISTRESS IN $300,000 LAWSUIT OVER JEZEBEL ARTICLE ON HIS TWITTER BAN: Talib Kweli is suing Jezebel's parent company G/O Media for emotional distress caused by a piece written in 2020 about his permanent suspension from Twitter. Back in July 2020, Kweli announced that he was leaving Twitter, but Jezebel writer Ashley Reese wrote a piece saying that the rapper was removed from the platform for "repeated violations of Twitter rules” after he sent tweets over the course of several weeks in an attempt to discredit then-24-year-old student and activist Maya Moody. According to Complex, Kweli claims in his suit that the article used him as “guinea pig to clarify how black men treat black women,” and sent him “into a depression state of loss of appetite, sleeplessness, edgy, anxiety, and discomfort around certain women.” He alleged that he was presented as “some monster that didn’t like black women,” which he opposed by pointing out that “500k plus of his fans are black women, his ex-wife and child’s mother are black women, and his employees are black women.” Kweli is seeking $300,000 in damages, which he claims to be half of his salary.
