Music Mondays With Fly KP – New Music You Need to Hear 3.2.26

untitled-4-2

Let’s get straight to it, some solid drops hit this week.

Concrete Boys – It’s Us, Volume 2

Lil Yachty’s group Concrete Boys just dropped It’s Us, Volume 2, and if you’ve been paying attention, you already know the energy they bring. The project keeps that creative, off the wall Yachty influence but still lets each member shine. Definitely one to run through if you like experimental vibes mixed with youthful hunger.

Freddie Gibbs ft. DJ Paul – “Find Out”

Freddie Gibbs teamed up with DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia for a new single called “Find Out,” and this one is tough. Dark production, gritty bars , just a real hip-hop joint. If you’re a fan of raw lyricism and that Memphis influence, this is a must listen.

Mýa ft. 21 Savage – “ASAP” (Remix)

Mýa dropped a remix to her single “ASAP” featuring 21 Savage, and I’m not gonna lie. .  that collab wasn’t one I saw coming. But it works. It’s a smooth blend of classic R&B energy with a modern edge. Mýa is also gearing up to drop a new album soon, and if this is a preview of what’s coming, it’s looking promising.

Juvenile ft. Megan Thee Stallion – “BBB” (Remix)

Juvenile linked up with Megan Thee Stallion for the remix to “BBB,” and this one goes crazy. Straight fire. High energy, big attitude and it feels like Juvenile is setting the tone for a big year ahead. The way he’s been moving lately? Yeah… something major is coming.

Local Artist Spotlight: Jay – “Work Eht Ish

This week’s Local Artist Spotlight goes to Jay and his new single Work Eht Ish.”

Jay says sometimes you have to leave home for people to really see your growth.

“You gotta travel because sometimes it’s hard to make people see you differently than how you were in high school… They don’t understand what you’re doing until you start making headlines somewhere else.”

After getting turned down for local shows, Jay and his mom started making calls themselves. He landed his first performance at Cosmic Charlie’s through an outside agency,  won the contest and knew from that moment this was what he was meant to do.

Now, he hosts 6–10 shows a year in Lexington under his brand Indignostic, giving local artists a free platform to perform while continuing to travel and build his name.

Work Eht Ish” was created to bring energy.

“We were just trying to make a song everybody could bop to. Dance to. Turn up to.”

Jay says his sound has evolved from straight trap rap to a more versatile range. With his V.I.P. EP dropping in April, plus more singles and visuals on the way, he’s locked in for a big year.

Tap in with “Work Eht Ish” and stay tuned.

I’m ALWAYS looking for artists to feature.
