It was a BIG weekend for music, so let’s get straight to it.
Kurupt feat. Snoop Dogg — “Survival”
West Coast vibes are alive and well as Kurupt teams up with Snoop Dogg for “Survival.” The record brings that classic laid-back energy while still feeling fresh. If you grew up on that legendary sound, this one is definitely worth checking out.
Armani White — “Press”
Armani White keeps his momentum going with his new single “Press.” High energy, confident delivery, and catchy production make this feel like another strong release for his catalog. It’s the type of track that instantly grabs attention.
Jorja Smith — “What’s Done Is Done”
Jorja Smith switches things up with “What’s Done Is Done,” bringing an upbeat dance rhythm and smooth vocals together on one record. The track carries a confident energy that feels perfect for the warmer months and shows a different side of her sound. Definitely one that can slide into both the R&B and dance playlists.
Drake — Iceman / Maid of Honor / Habibti
Drake surprised fans this weekend by dropping three full projects instead of just the anticipated Iceman. Personally, I’ve always felt the sweet spot for an album is around 12 to 15 songs, so getting three full projects at once was definitely unexpected.
What makes it interesting though is that each project has its own vibe. Iceman feels like classic Drizzy Drake, Maid of Honor is the Drake that makes you wanna dance, and Habibti feels like a good mix between the two. So even if one project doesn’t connect with you, there’s a good chance another one will. At the end of the day, Drake made sure there was something for everybody to listen to this weekend.
I’m always looking for artists to spotlight. If you know an artist or maybe you are one yourself hit me up on IG or Facebook. Let’s connect.
