It’s been a solid weekend for new music, so let’s get straight into it.

Isaiah RashadIt’s Been Awful
Isaiah is one of those artists who takes his time between projects, but it’s always worth the wait when he returns. It’s Been Awful is no different this project deserves a full listen. Standout records for me are “Boy in Red,” “Happy Hour,” and “Scared 2 look Down,” all showing his signature storytelling, perspective, and growth.

DaBaby“Pop Dat Thang” (Remix) ft. YKNIECE, Yung Miami & GloRilla
This remix comes in with high energy from start to finish. Each feature brings its own flavor, and together it turns into a record that feels built for the summer. Definitely one of those tracks that can take over in the club and on the airwaves.

Bryson Tiller“It’s Ok”
Bryson slides right back into his trap-soul pocket on this one. He’s comfortable, confident, and showing off both his vocals and his pen. Definitely one for the late-night playlist.

Chris Brown“Fallen” ft. Leon Thomas
Chris Brown continues building momentum ahead of his upcoming album Brown. “Fallen” featuring Leon Thomas feels smooth, emotional, and intentional setting the tone perfectly for what’s coming next.

Evan Cho – One & Only

This week’s Local Artist Spotlight goes to Evan Cho, an artist bringing raw emotion and real-life storytelling into his music, with his latest single “One and Only.”

Evan’s connection to music started early. From playing in band as a kid to balancing sports while learning how to record, he’s always had an ear for sound. But 2024 marked a turning point not just musically, but personally.

“2024 is the year I found God, and since then I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities and great people. I felt like I had to spread my story and message with everyone.”

Inspired by artists like J. Cole, Mac Miller, Michael Jackson, and Brooks & Dunn, Evan creates music with meaning pulling from emotion, mental health, and real-life experiences to connect with listeners on a deeper level.

Since releasing his first single “Hold Back,” he’s focused on growth, storytelling, and developing his sound step by step.

His latest single, “One and Only,” is a personal record dedicated to his girlfriend, Lexie.

“When I wrote it, she was sitting right next to me… I was just thinking about all the amazing times we’ve had.”

For Evan, music is an outlet something he turns to when emotions feel overwhelming. That honesty is what drives his creative process.

“When I write a song, it’s because I can’t handle my emotions. I go to the studio for an out.”

With “One and Only,” he hopes listeners feel that raw emotion..the kind that stays with you after the song ends.

Right now, he’s focused on consistency, dropping singles every 4–6 weeks, building his audience, and collaborating with more local artists in Lexington and surrounding areas.

I’m always looking for artists to spotlight. If you know an artist or maybe you are one yourself hit me up on IG or Facebook. Let’s connect.
